SurgeonCheck | Marc Granson

Marc Granson, MD

Founder & CEO

Marc is the founder and CEO of SurgeonCheck. Previously, he was a practicing vascular surgeon for 33 years and the founding member of a 45-person, multi-specialty group practice, which included vascular surgeons, radiologists, and cardiologists. Marc’s practice was the first in the nation to combine interventional radiology and vascular surgery to focus on best serving patients rather than competing financially. He served as Chair of Surgery for St. Luke’s University Health Network from 2003 to 2016. While Marc was Chair of Surgery, he realized employers, health plans, and hospitals did not have a comprehensive tool to analyze the quality and cost of their surgeons, and patients had no way to objectively choose their surgeon. With this in mind, he developed the SurgeonCheck platform. In late 2016, Marc stepped down as Chair of Surgery to dedicate all his energy to SurgeonCheck. He earned a B.S. from Indiana University, where he played on the freshman basketball team, and earned an M.D. from Temple University School of Medicine. Marc completed his general surgery residency at the University of Southern California and his fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently serves on the board of the United Way Greater Lehigh Valley, the advisory council for Truth for Women, and the President’s advisory board for Moravian College. When Marc isn't pursuing his mission to bring transparency to surgical outcomes, you can find him golfing, water skiing, biking, taking megaformer classes, watching college basketball and lacrosse, or spending time with his seven grandchildren.
